The soccer community used to classify age by “Under” a specific year, for example, “U9.”  The soccer “year” used to
start August 1  and include all dates of birth through the following July 31.  However, since the 2016-17 soccer season, the U-"x" designation is determined by the year of birth from January 1 through December 31 of that year.  

Parents should identify the U – “X” soccer age of their child using the chart on this page, as many of our descriptions, schedules, and communications will use this classification system.
